“Free Mind, Free Conscience,” a film portraying Margarita’s story and captured by filmmaker and Scala Foundation Alum (‘19), Bess Blackburn, received honorable mention in the Dare to Overcome global film festival!

Empower Women Media and the Religious Freedom & Business Foundation use short films to creatively impact freedom of religion and belief (FoRB) in their workplaces and communities.

2020 finalists hailed from Afghanistan, Canada, India, Iran, Jordan, Lebanon, Tunisia, United Arab Emirates, and the US. Below are the thrilling 2020 results. A virtual film festival featured the top films on Aug. 1, 2020.

Bess Blackburn not only attended the Scala Summer Seminar in Summer 2019, but continues to work for Scala Foundation using both in-person and virtual film tools to spread the mission of Scala Foundation and be an effective part of Scala Foundation’s movement.
